- It's been a while since I've posted any updates! But here I am again! ๐
I can't remember everything that I've changed since the last update, but here are some changes:
- A hopeful boost to performance: I just discovered that everything was casting a shadow, but the ground is black... So I didn't realize this was happening. I've disabled shadows, so I hope that his helps the game run on more machines. If it's still running bad, please let me know so that I can work on making more performance fixes.
- I also separated my menus into a selection screen on the left and displays information on the right.
I'm currently working on implementing status effects. There will be a different status effect that each element can apply. I have most of them sorted out, but I'm still trying to decide what a couple of them will do.
Once the status effects are completely in, most of the games battle code should be done. The only other things I want to add are trainer bonuses, that will be added from a trainer skill tree that I need to implement, and I want the front rows and back rows of the battle to matter for range vs close attacks. But those aren't that important right now.
Once I have the status effects added I plan to work on the trainer skill tree. This will unlock trainer commands, bonuses to attack with specific types, and allow the trainer to gain more information about opposing enemies.
Something else I need to add soon are items heal you monsters.
It's nice to be working on this again!
